Anya
Mielniczek
Anya Mielniczek combines traditional fine art training with street dirt mediums, producing public art that provides a voice for environmental and social issues, community history and storytelling.
Inspired by nature, portraiture and found materials, her work utilizes vivid colour, while flowing between a realistic and abstract aesthetic determined by project deliverables and the artist’s continued stylistic exploration.

She approaches each project as an opportunity to evoke contemplation, connection or inspiration. Anya’s material approach encourages experimentation with mix-media including latex paint, aerosol and up cycled waste, working with the mechanical application of spray, the energy of hand-brushed strokes or the texture of waste or repurposed items in mosaic form.

Ultimately, Anya’s creative goal is to paint with purpose by giving nature and communities a voice while defining a conversation with the viewer that may positively influence, excite or carry the tune of the voices and ideas present in collaborative street art projects.
As I was designing the booth, I wanted to show off all of Anya’s vibrant creations so that everyone could view them from any angle. I created an open area by keeping the centre portion unfilled and divided the room into separate areas so that her diverse collection of artwork could be shown.
